Instead, you are in a state of deep relaxation, and you will be quite responsive. Some people go to sleep because they get so relaxed.

Throughout this time, the dentist or another professional member of the dental team will closely monitor your vital signs at all times. You will never, at any time, be left alone.

Depending on the treatment you require, the sedation will last between two and six hours in total. Because of the sedative effect of the medication used for sedation dentistry, you will need to have someone accompany you to the dentist’s office, stay at the office during the appointment, and then bring you home again. Though you will be conscious and responsive, this is required for safety reasons.
